General

Greenscapes strives to ensure that its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We have invested resources to help ensure that our website is easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, in the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

How this website is built

Rather than relying on an add-on accessibility overlay, accessibility is built into the pages themselves. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, and in particular:

• semantic HTML landmarks and a single, correctly ordered heading structure on every page
• a “skip to main content” link as the first item on every page
• text that resizes and reflows down to a 320 px screen without loss of content
• color contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG AA thresholds for body text
• visible keyboard focus indicators, and navigation that works without a mouse
• descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning
• forms with permanently visible labels, and error messages that are announced to screen readers
• full functionality without JavaScript, and no auto-playing motion
